We are Pat and April Schaaf-mother and daughter-in-law. We are carrying on the almost lost arts of hand quilting and lye soapmaking. Having learned to hand quilt and hand applique from my mother, I am passing it on to my daughter-in-law, April. In these days of modern technology, hand quilting is the only way to preserve this fast disappearing tradition. It is a legacy that is passed from mother to daughter.  Our quilts are made in the foothills of the Ozarks in Weingarten, MO which is a community rich with our German ancestry. Our quilts are all 100% hand quilted. The embroidery and applique are also done only by hand. This may take a little longer, but we believe the superior quality of our quilts makes all the hand work worthwhile. The quilts are made one at a time, stitch by stitch. Most of our quilts are one-of-a-kind because we used different print fabrics for almost every quilt. The soaps are vegetable based, lye soaps. All of our soaps are made with the finest essential oils, organic flowers, and spices. Thank you for looking at our page.
